CATHERINE RAPETTI DESIGN
Throughout her young life, Catherine Rapetti spent most of her free time riding and showing horses. She now looks to this experience for her creative inspiration and carries her love of horseback riding forward into the signature nameplate and style of each one of her handbags.
After earning a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Art History at Gettysburg College, Catherine began her career in New York City while working for Morgan Stanley’s Equity Research Marketing Team. Soon thereafter, she accepted a position in the Marketing Department of renowned upscale retailer Saks Fifth Avenue. While at Saks, she discovered her love for the fashion industry and found it a natural decision to forge an independent business in fashion design.
Catherine completed her graduate degree at Parsons School of Design and upon graduation made her first handbag, the Giraffe Print Margaret Tote, which was inspired by and named after her mother. This bag became an immediate success and remains a not only a bestseller, but one of her signature bags. Catherine continues to be inspired by those close to her. Each bag is named after a friend or family member that most closely represents their personality.
